Safeguarding

Last updated: 16 September 2026

Our commitment

Ghana Oratory International School is committed to providing an environment in which children and young people are treated with dignity, protected from harm and able to learn safely.

Safeguarding principles

The welfare of the child is central to safeguarding practice. Concerns should be taken seriously, handled appropriately and escalated through the school's safeguarding procedures. Staff and adults working with students are expected to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and conduct.

Reporting a concern

A safeguarding concern involving a child should be reported promptly to the school through its designated safeguarding process. Where a child is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency or child-protection authorities without delay.

Online safety

GOIS recognises that safeguarding extends to digital environments. Students should be supported to use technology responsibly and concerns involving online contact, harassment, exploitation or inappropriate content should be reported.

Visitors and school community

Parents, guardians, visitors, contractors and members of the school community are expected to follow school safeguarding requirements while interacting with students or attending school activities.

Policy development

This public safeguarding statement summarises the school's commitment. Detailed safeguarding procedures, reporting responsibilities and staff guidance may be maintained separately and updated as the school becomes fully operational.

Contact

General safeguarding enquiries can be directed to contactus@ghanaoratory.org. Do not use ordinary website contact channels as a substitute for emergency services where a child is in immediate danger.
